ANXIETY & TRAUMA THERAPIST | MINNESOTA

It’s time to feel like yourself again.

Jennie Hardman, MSW, LICSW

Anxiety and trauma can cause us to develop a hard exterior: a protective wall between ourselves and the hurt & disappointment we’ve experienced.

Therapy is an invitation to take that wall down.

As a therapist, my job is to offer a place where clients feel safe being their true selves, somewhere they don’t have to cover up the hurt or challenges they may not have let others see before. I’m willing to go to hard places right alongside them -- the painful memories, the deep-rooted beliefs, the unhelpful patterns -- in order to help them experience a richer, fuller version of life.

Here’s what I believe about therapy:

You already have everything you need.

Therapy isn’t about becoming a different version of yourself or changing who you are. It’s about accessing the strengths that are already inside of you.

There’s power in being curious.

It’s okay to not have all the answers -- some of the greatest insight and growth comes from being willing to take a new perspective on your experience.

Fresh approaches can help you get unstuck.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. I want to help you experience change using evidence-based, modern approaches to therapy, including EMDR, mindfulness and meditation, and more.

Therapy doesn’t need to last forever.

Therapy has seasons in our lives. My work is goal-oriented -- when you’ve met those goals, it may mean you’re done with therapy for this season. I celebrate that. (And if there are new goals to work on, I celebrate those too!)

ANXIETY & TRAUMA THERAPIST | MINNESOTA

At the end of the day, this isn’t about the 1 hour we meet every week. It’s about the rest of your life outside of therapy.

The work of therapy is only useful if it connects to real life. My goal is to help you tap into your innate strengths and develop new skills in order to take the insights from our sessions and apply it to your relationships, self-care, career, and everyday life.

My office location is in St. Paul for in-person therapy sessions. For virtual sessions, I serve people within the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, as well as greater Minnesota.
